Matthias Hoppe

Matthias Hoppe is Senior Vice President and Head of EMEA Portfolio Management for Franklin Templeton Investment Solutions (FTIS), based in Frankfurt, Germany. In this capacity, he is responsible for overseeing the management, research, and performance of multi-asset portfolios across the EMEA region, including outcome- and income-oriented strategies. He leads the regional portfolio management team and contributes to the firm’s global multi-asset investment process through his role on the FTIS Investment Strategy & Research Committee.

He joined Franklin Templeton in 2008 and has over two decades of investment experience.

Before joining the firm, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Apo Asset Management in Düsseldorf, where he managed healthcare equity portfolios and multi-manager funds. Earlier in his career, he worked as a marketing specialist for equity derivatives at Commerzbank, and began his professional journey as a financial journalist, covering emerging markets, investment funds, derivatives, and structured products.

Matthias holds a Master's degree in economics from Julius-Maximilian Universität Würzburg and the CFA Institute Certificate in Sustainable Investing.
