Effective 7 June 2024, the name of the Dublin-registered Franklin Metaverse UCITS ETF will change to “Franklin AI, Metaverse and Blockchain UCITS ETF”.

The rationale behind the addition of “AI” and “Blockchain” to the name of this ETF is to better reflect the nature of the exposure with multiple industries in the underlying index.

In addition to the above, index methodology for this ETF will be enhanced to increase the number of companies from 60 to 75 as this nascent segment is evolving and more companies are qualifying for index inclusion.

Furthermore, the current themes within the index will be simplified from 7 to 4 main categories – these categories are:

  • (i) Metaverse Ecosystem;
  • (ii) Blockchain Technology;
  • (iii) Digital Asset Platforms;
  • (iv) AI Applications and Services.

These changes will provide greater clarity to investors and will not result in any change to the investment objective of this ETF.
